Recreational Programs

 

Unparalleled recreational programs sets St. Hilda’s apart from most other residences within Toronto. Residents love the freedom of planning their days precisely as they wish, with countless on-site activities to choose from. The week is full of interesting and engaging programs, a little something for everyone each and everyday!

Such as:

  • Just added recently to stimulate the mind Tai Chi, Circuit Fitness & Memory Magic.
  • Let's Get ACTIVE! We encourage all who are interested in being physically active to attend our new variation of fitness classes. If you would like to join or get more information on the Seniors Day Program please call 416-781-6621 or click here to view our brochure.

    This program is brought to you in part by the generous grant from New Horizons program.

  • Nintendo Wii interactive video games to keep seniors active and let them have some fun.
  • Features like a 60” home theatre television allows seniors to keep abreast of local news, enjoy sports, entertainment and movies.
  • Hilda’s & Duffy’s pub Happy Hour provides a warm and inviting environment for seniors to relax and socialize.
  • A lush greenhouse regularly maintained by our residents allows those with a green thumb to enjoy planting and interact with nature.
  • An Aviary and large inviting aquarium give residents tranquil spaces to get away for a moment and relax.
  • Snooker table provides seniors with a fun and challenging way to practice their skills and get together with friends.
  • A well-stocked library gives seniors plenty to choose from including large print books which are donated from the Toronto Public Libraries and the community.
  • The computer room encourages residents to connect via the internet to friends and family around the world.
  • Enjoy special events such as concerts, themed parties and popcorn theatre nights which preview both classic and modern films.
  • A variety of organized and spontaneous card games including, bridge, cribbage, and euchre is a great way to get together with friends or meet new ones.
  • The ever popular bingo, is regularly scheduled and a fun way to socialize with friends.

Special Events
Residents love the freedom of planning their days precisely as they wish, with many on-site activities to choose from. There is a wide variety of engaging and exciting musical events that are booked on a regualar basis with entertainment ranging from classical to contemporary music. There are even parties that add variety and make each day a little different. The halls of St. Hilda's are alive with music and laughter! With Concerts, Music, Movies and special holiday events like Cananda Day and New Years's Eve there is always plenty to do.

Resident Committees: Residents can also take part in internal committees for example to name a few the Resident Executive Council, Food Service, Library and our Greenhouse.

Recreational Facilities Include: Craft Studio, Computer Room, Games, Billiards, Exercise Area, Aviary (birds), Aquarium, Library with a 60" Home-Theatre television screen and 4 Pianos.
